MEET THE HOUSEKEEPING TEAM: Julie Philp and Rae Andrews

meet the Yangaro housekeeping team

Can you tell us about the Housekeeping team’s role in ensuring a luxurious stay for guests at Yangaro?
The Housekeeping team at Yangaro works quietly behind the scenes to ensure every guest feels truly at home. From carefully preparing each villa to making sure that guests have everything they need, we’re here to perfect every detail. We collaborate closely with our Guest Services Manager to fulfil requests as quickly as possible, creating a seamless, luxurious experience for every stay.

What are some of the team’s favourite aspects of working together to maintain the high standard of cleanliness across the villas and property?
We genuinely enjoy working as a team, and that sense of camaraderie is key to maintaining Yangaro’s high standards. Each of us brings a strong commitment to excellence, and by supporting one another, we ensure that every space shines.

How does the team prepare the villas for special occasions like weddings, retreats, or milestone celebrations?
When preparing for special events, we work together to ensure every detail reflects the significance of the occasion. This includes customised touches like gift packs, fresh fruit bowls for wedding parties, and beautiful flower arrangements. Our final inspections take place on the day of arrival to ensure that everything is flawless.

What are some small details or hidden touches that guests might not notice but contribute to their overall experience?
Behind the scenes, we personalise every guest’s stay to meet their specific needs, whether it’s a wedding, birthday celebration, corporate retreat, or family getaway. Our team thoughtfully considers all aspects of the stay, tailoring our preparations to ensure every moment feels special.

What eco-friendly or sustainable practices does the Housekeeping team implement to reduce waste and ensure a minimal environmental footprint?
We’re proud to use eco-friendly products to launder all linens onsite, reducing our environmental footprint. We also dry our linens in the fresh Funnel Bay sunshine whenever possible, infusing them with a natural, sea-air aroma while minimising energy use. Sustainable practices are central to our work, allowing us to create a luxurious yet environmentally conscious experience for our guests.
